Who we are
My blogging name is Joanne and I am the Petticoat Diva. The Petticoat Diva is first and foremost a personal blogging site of which I publish advice, reviews, interests, pictures. My website address is: https://petticoatdiva.co.uk – you may have been redirected here from www.petticoatdiva.com too as I own both domains.
This website is hosted in Austin, TX, USA.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it:
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you contact me via the contact form, I will only use your data to respond to you. Any contact details will be retained for 3 months after last use.
I do not currently operate a newsletter, in future, any option to join a newsletter will be opt-in. You will not be automatically added to any newsletter via this website or any contact made with me.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. This may come across as something like YouTube or Google or if you leave my website to go to another.
I don’t currently operate any kind of analytics. I’m in the process of signing up to having Matamo as my provider for analytics as they are privaconsciousous. I shall not be outing you to Google for visiting my site. I will be paying for Matamo so that you do not have to pay for my analytics with your rights and freedoms.
Who we share your data with
The only data that is shared with any third party services is gravatar as per the above other than what is required to run the site.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely (urgh…working on this). This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments are checked through an automated spam detection service. Any spam is deleted automatically otherwise, comments are approved provided they are not negative in their intended nature.
